5Did my homeworkJan 19, 2006
By V. Ketenbrink
I made a list of my likes and dislikes of all of the cookware I've ever used.

My List: Non-stick, easy cleanup, no rivets in the cooking area, clear ventable covers, no squishy handles, a durable lining to handle meats with bones, and something I wouldn't have to replace every couple of years.

After searching the internet for my perfect cookware I decided to try Swiss Diamond. So far, I'm extremely happy with it.

A word of warning though. Food really doesn't stick. I almost tossed breakfast out of the skillet one morning, when I moved it to a different burner. Needless to say, cleanup has been a breeze.

The clear ventable covers are good. I don't have to remove the lid to see if I need to turn things over. (The stove doesn't get splattered with greese, from me checking the food status every few minutes.)

I haven't cooked meats with bones in the cookware yet, but my 13 year old nephew scrambled eggs with a metal fork. Yes, I was very afraid...Absolutely no marks. So, I'm pretty sure the meats with bones won't be an issue. Turns out that diamonds are not just a girl's best friend.

Negatives: 1-The stew pot is larger than I'm use to, which impels me to cook double batches. (Although, that is a positive for left-overs and family gatherings...) 2-The price was higher than what I paid for replacements, but if I don't have to get use to new cookware every couple of years, I'm good.

Update 4 Years Later: I am still very happy with this cookware. So far the bone-in meats haven't caused any damage and I like the stew pot much more than I thought I would. No loose handles. No warped bottoms. No stained lids.

5Very NiceMay 11, 2006
By S. Allen
Just got this set a week ago so obviously can only give a limited review.
So far I like them a lot, not too heavy, VERY non-stick so far but of course most all non-stick except for the super cheap stuff is very good the first few times you use it.
To give you an idea on the frying pan I fried 2 eggs in it in just a wee bit of butter for flavor and I could actually "blow" the eggs around the pan with my mouth.

The handles are not bad, they screw into the side of pan which sometimes is not good although these seem well made so only time will tell if that will ever be any problem.

The lids are nice, just a wee bit looser fit than I usually prefer but not bad.

They do transfer heat VERY well & cook great so far and since I have only had these such a short time that is really the best comment I can make on them that means anything.
They cook great, feel good, look good and at first impression I feel they are going to last me a good 15-20 years.
I got lucky and got this set here for $204 total shipped to the door, so for that price I'm very pleased so far and have nothing bad to say about them.

IF something comes up later on I will update.

UPDATE: Sept 10th 2007
Well have now had these pots & pans for almost 1 1/2 years I still use them every single day.
The only pan that even looks worn is the frying pan and that is totally my fault because I have over heated it several times which has slightly darkened the bottom but has not touched the non stick properties.
Id have to say the frying pan still has 98% of non stick properties all the other pots have 100% and still look like new except for the bottom on the outside which is just bare aluminum so there is some burned on whatever that is unavoidable.
This set seems to me like it will last my lifetime.

Edit: Update/Update September 14th 2008.
OK it getting close to 3 years now, ALL the pots are virtually like brand new still even though I use them several times a week. The frying pan is the only pan that looks used and that like I said last year is really my fault as much as anything because its almost impossible to not overheat a frying pan.
I would say at this point that the frying pan has probably lost maybe 10-15% of its non-stick properties which is outstanding for a non-stick pan.

Now what I truly would recommend is to get a good Ol 12" Cast Iron skillet for your everyday hard core frying pan use, this pan you can heat until red hot if you want an it is not going to phase it. You can get it really hot and it cooks a great steak etc what ever you need high heat for. Then use this frying pan on those times that you don't need very high heat and you are all set.
The cast iron only gets better with age, cooks great, and is cheap.

Edit: Another update (July 15th 2009)
Well the smaller pot (2.2 Qts) for some reason started flaking around the bottom inside edges.
I called Swiss Diamond, they were very nice and I had no problem contacting them at all. I explained the situation, she sent me an RMA form via Email to print out, I did so and put the pot in a box with the form sent it UPS cost $12 sent it July 8th and today (15th) received a brand new replacement pot.
Quick and easy, cost $12 and in exactly one week received a new pot.

All the rest of them are holding up fine although I must admit that I am using the cast iron skillet almost exclusively now partly because it is larger but also because it is quite simply unbeatable for a skillet.
It is honestly just as nonstick as any nonstick pan ever will be and it actually gets BETTER with age.
As far as nonstick goes Swiss Diamond is still the pots to beat as far as I am concerned.

My wife loves this cookware. Very well made. Efficient transfer of heat. Easy to clean. Will be adding a few more pieces. Value from Amazon was also good. Recommended.

5What she wantedNov 11, 2007
By Charles Reeves "World Traveler"
I got these pans for my girlfriend a year ago because she wanted 'Diamonds'. It isn't exactly what she expected but she is happy with them all the same. She says that they are great to cook with so she is happy. They have held up great in the year that we have had them and we use them all the time. I think that they are super easy to clean so I am happy.
Her one wish is that the lid vented a little more. The bottom of the pan has discolored a bit (tinted brown) but that could be due to overheating. They still look good, however, and I think that a little discoloration is to be expected.
Get these pans for someone you care about (even if that person is yourself).
On a side note, she got the 'Diamonds' she wanted later that year as well. Now she wants them every year!

5Great SetOct 11, 2007
By J Martin Jellinek
Although I am not much of a cook, I am the chief bottle washer in the family. I bought this set for my partner last year for Christmas. We use it every day and I have washed it every day. In almost a year, nothing has stuck to the surface, so cleaning is a snap. All the pieces still look like new. As one who has spent too many hours trying to get caked on goo out of pans, this set is amazing. And it makes some darned good meals too. I highly recommend it.
