Description:

PEUGEOT: France, since 1810. Peugeot mills are renowned by chefs and gourmet cooks the word over for the consistent grind results they produce, their incredible resilience and proven reliability. Compromise is not a word that fits into the Peugeot vocabulary. For each spice, there is one – and only one – Peugeot grinding mechanism: peppercorns; coarse dry salt; chilies; herbs and spices; wet salts; and nutmeg. Add the coffee mechanism, which started it all, and there are seven unique Peugeot mechanisms. Each is designed to derive the most flavor and greatest aroma from its complementary spice. Aesthetically pleasing, Peugeot mills deliver the height of quality, durability, reliability and innovation; making these mills the ones to which all others are compared. The high quality beech wood used in Peugeot mills is grown, harvested, dried, shaped and finished in France. For Paris Classic mills, the grind is adjusted by turning the top nut: turn it clockwise (tighten) for a finer grind; counter-clockwise (loosen) for a coarser grind. This mill is equipped with Peugeot’s legendary pepper grinding mechanism. Made of case-hardened steel, it has received additional treatment against wear and corrosion. Its double-row of helix-shaped claws grab and crack each peppercorn, before drawing it down to the teeth for the perfect grind. Mill is 12-inches tall with a chocolate brown varnish.

Features:

Mill is 12-inches tall, chocolate finish

2 Stage grinding mechanism is made of case-hardened steel which is specially treated to keep the teeth razor sharp and protect from corrosion

Releases maximum flavor and aroma by first cracking each peppercorn before it is ground

Classic grind adjustment: turn the top knob tighter (clockwise) for finer grinds; looser (counter-clockwise) for coarser grinds

Made in France

3Works, but annoysJan 18, 2008
By Ana_y_lat
It seems that every time I grind pepper, the screw on top that you are supposed to adjust the coarseness with comes unscrewed. At first, I thought it was a defect, but I also got a salt grinder of the same kind, and it does the same thing, albeit to a lesser degree.
Looks good, works, but is annoying as you have to keep readjusting the screw every 3-4 turns. Not something I expected from such an expensive and talked about product.

5Best Grinder AvailableDec 03, 2006
By C. C. White
We've had this exact Peugeot 7" Pepper Grinder for 28 years.

We bought it because my Mother In-Law had been using hers

for about 30 years (which was 28 years ago, and shes 84 and still

uses it). This Pepper Grinder is used daily, works excellent,

never failed. I'm buying one for my daughter for Christmas

and I know she'll have it long after I'm gone.

2Looks good, works poorlyJan 04, 2007
By James A. Heard
We have been using this mill for about 4 months, and it looks great on the table, but that's about it. It will grind pepper, but adjusting it is very hit-and-miss (mostly miss), and it won't hold an adjustment very well. On a fine setting, it works OK, but it is nearly impossible to get a coarse grind out of it - it seems to go from fine to medium, and then to too open to grind at all. We got better results out of a 20-year old no-name pepper mill. I would not buy this mill again.

5Perfect PeppermillJul 14, 2007
By Richard K. Choate
I have been looking for the perfect peppermill for nearly four years, and the Peugeot Paris Peppermill has allowed me to end my search. The size and weight of the mill provides for a 5-star restaurant feel while entertaining at home. Additionally the grind of the peppercorns provides just the right balance between the dust you can buy off the shelf in a grocery store and the grainy chunks I've gotten from other mills. This perfect grind prevents the pepper from overpowering the taste of the food. This truly is the perfect peppermill.

59" u-select ... perfect!Apr 14, 2012

This is a fantastic pepper mill~I love it! The 9" is perfect for my hands & I keep it next to the stove. I love the chocolate finish; it does not chip on the edges like the laquered ones.
I like the u-select feature so that you can get very fine to very coarse pepper; you decide by the turn at the bottom of the mill...a great improvement over the knob at the top.
This pepper mill will serve me for many years to come~ I love it! The "paris" style is classic~ what more could one want? This is perfect!
