Peugeot mills are renowned by chefs and gourmet cooks the word over for the consistent grind results they produce, their incredible resilience and proven reliability. Compromise is not a word that fits into the Peugeot vocabulary. For each spice, there is one – and only one – Peugeot grinding mechanism: peppercorns; coarse dry salt; chilies; herbs and spices; wet salts; and nutmeg. Add the coffee mechanism, which started it all, and there are seven unique Peugeot mechanisms. Each is designed to derive the most flavor and greatest aroma from its complementary spice. Aesthetically pleasing, Peugeot mills deliver the height of quality, durability, reliability and innovation; making these mills the ones to which all others are compared. Cut and shaped from select French beech wood, Fidji’s sleek silhouette is dressed with a brushed stainless steel top. Fidji classic has a traditional grind adjustment: turn the top nut clockwise (tighten) for a finer grind; counter-clockwise (loosen) for a coarser grind. This mill is equipped with Peugeot’s exceptional salt grinding mechanism: it is unlike anything else on the market. Its two ribbed plates are made from a stainless steel blend that offers resiliency, rigidity and resistance to corrosion from dry salts. When the mechanism is activated, the ribs work to twist and fracture each salt crystal to the desired size. Mill is 4-3/4-inches tall with a black matte finish. | | | Features: | |

DisappointedSep 20, 2005
By George A. Radix This mill certainly looks good but does not work in humid environments. Contacting the distributor for help is a waste of time.

Best grinder available.Oct 29, 2007

I've used many grinders over the years, and these take the cake. The pepper grinder will make your pepper as coarse as you like it. The salt mill is equally well built and designed, but you have to grind a lot of salt to get your food to taste. For the pair I give five stars.

Run of the Mill [pun intended]Aug 11, 2005
By Daniel L. Holloway I cannot figure out how to get a coarse grind. At the price I paid, It should have various grinds. The directions for use are almost non-existant. Live and learn!

Great reliable Salt MillJan 21, 2010
By J. von Zumbusch My parents have had a really wonderful pepper mill for almost 40 years and when I went to find a similar one I couldn't, but I found that the grinding mechanism was a Peugeot, so I went for this salt grinder and its matching mill. I haven't been disappointed at all; they look great and are very reliable. They have a nice clean modern aesthetic, but are easy to use (I have not found the mills hard to control for coarseness at all, you can tighten or loosen the screw that holds the top on to adjust the grind). The salt does need to be fairly course to begin with, but I don't think that any real salt mills work with Kosher salt. I use it all the time in the kitchen and on the table so much that I can hardly remember life without it.

This mill is high quality. It is going strong after two years. Filling it can be messy.
