I've been watching TV cooking shows and these are used alot. The microplaner is great for zesting citrus and the coarse greater is good on cheddar cheese when you just want a little to garnish a dish. I like that they come in different handle colors, so you can distinguish them when they are in your counter crock.

This is my 4 th Microplane Grater. Now have nearly all sizes. They are the very best ones on the market. This one is wonderful for a block of sharp Cheddar cheese and especially wonderful for grating carrots for carrot cake, which every baker knows is the most perplexing job...too big...too mushy and etc. this one is PERFECT for Carrot cake/bread-Zicchini bread and etc. worth every penny...ENJOY !

I have the fine grate Microplane grater and love it, but I needed a course grater for cheese. I am equally satisfied with this Microplane product. Easy to clean and safely store in its' cover. I love the bright colors!

This is more versatile than a box grater in some ways. If you want to do directly into your cooking bowl, or over food etc, it's easier to transport. Has nice grippy nubs on the end of the rasp to keep it from scratching counter top or plates, or keep from slipping too. Nice sheath and grippy handle. Still love my old original fine grating microplane that is not as nice as this one and paid twice as much for. This size grating hole will do anything you would expect your coarse holes on a box grater to do, just more easily for some applications.

I like it when a tool performs as expected. This microplane grater does just that. Tired of fighting with the old graders in my kitchen, I decided to give this one a try. It works so well I picked up some of the other models as well. Easy to use, easy to clean, easy to store and it even comes with a cover to protect it during storage.
It works as advertised, I'll be picking up the others in the series.
