Great blade, lousy handle designJan 18, 2009
By d kellerman I purchased this from WS thinking it was cute and would be perfect for zesting lemons. I was wrong. It has an acrylic rim around the metal blade which attaches it to the rubber handle. The plastic broke after only zesting two lemons. I think it has a poor design. The blade is great and until it broke, it did zest the first lemon in about one minute! So I will purchase the all metal Microplane insteadMicroplane Grater/Zester.

Designed for failureMar 22, 2009
By B. Ehlers The metal part of this tool that does all the work is great! This, however, is held in place by a plastic frame which pretty much disintegrated within a month or so. I am just going to get one of their classic graters where the metal rasp is embedded in the handle.

Fragile FrameSep 29, 2009
By Andrew Chang I have a couple Microplane graters and have loved them all until I purchased this one.
This says Dishwasher Safe like the other Microplane products I have, but in only a couple of months the plastic frame around the metal grating insert cracked into 8 pieces.
I tried to contact Microplane several times and got no response what-so-ever.
I love their products, but can not recommend them, if they can't stand behind their design and care recommendation

Miserable.Mar 14, 2010
By Lumber Three uses and the tool broke. Very disappointed with Microplane. Cheap construction and no response when I contacted the company. DO NOT BUY THIS.

Didn't last too long...Dec 15, 2009
By N. Tyler I bought the zester about three months ago. I didn't use it that often and now the handle came off. It's too bad because the blade itself is actually working really good. Guess I'm gonna have to buy me a new microplane, but this time one of the all metal ones.
