Subtle styleDec 17, 2008
By Santino Want to quietly impress your friends at the next big backyard BBQ? Want to appear extremely stylish as you cut up that next fat Rib Eye steak for your lady?
This is the carving set to get.
The design is both beautiful and functional. The dove tail shape of the handle keeps the blade off of the table or cutting board, which not only looks nice but keeps the blade sharp. The fork is very handy of course, for holding down the meat as you slice, and makes it easy to serve the line of people standing there with their plates in hand.
It is spendy, yes. But if you care about such things as kitchen hardware and have an appreciation for metal working and aesthetics, and can afford it, I suggest this set.
Ladies, this would also really impress your man as a Fathers Day or Christmas gift. It tells us men "I appreciate all the hard work you put into cooking such lovely meat", which is something we don't usually hear while people are quietly om nom nom'ing their steaks after we have spent hours and a lot of money to make them happen. :)
This is not a knife for every day, but it is for every special occasion.

"go-tard"
this is a PROPER carving set. By that i simply mean it is not a fork and 8-inch chef's knife, it is a fork and carving/slicing knife. There's nothing wrong with a slicing knife, but it just isn't an 'all purpose' knife, it's 'purpose designed.' So five for quality, but minus two because the product advertised is not the product they're selling.
