5The Best Knife Ever!!!Jan 10, 2007
By Alex G. "Alex G."
I cook often and this is the absolute BEST KNIFE I have ever used. I do have that other "famous maker" German knives set, but discovered that Chroma knives are FAR SUPERIOR!!!

They cut trhough everything like butter, but the best part is ERGONOMICS. They truly mold to your palm and are extremely comfortable for all tasks: chopping, slicing, mincing, dicing. Try one - and you'll understand.

Happy cooking!

4One Sexy KnifeOct 01, 2005
By Miranda "superbookchick"
I had an opportunity to use this knife in a recent cooking class and was pleasantly surprised. I expected it to be "just another pretty face." And it is a gorgeous knife, but, more importantly, it is incredibly well-balanced and feels great in your hand.

I gave it 4 stars because I am, personally, still partial to those heavy, traditional German knives from the likes of Wusthof and Henkel. However, this one is well worth the money. It would also make a very impressive gift.

5Our favorite wedding giftNov 10, 2008
By Laurie A. Lombardi
Recently married, this w one of our gifts, and I was a hard convert. A loyal Cutco owner I have high standards, but my Cutco chef's knife had developed a notch after about ten years of heavy use and it was time to replace it.

This looked like a gimmic, but it is as functional as attractive, meeting the high expectations set by its japanese steel rating, and unusual design. Very hygenic (no nooks and crannies to catch food) and very comfortable in the prime cutting position, it rocks easily, and above all, cuts like any high-end knife should, extremely smoothly.

A very impressive knife, that goes beyond its conversation piece looks and meets on the surprisingly consistently high F.A.Porsche design standard.

5Awesome knifeMar 29, 2011
By Josh
I am a line cook, I use this knife every day, and it makes a world of difference. The handle is very comfortable and the knife overall is very well balanced allowing me to julienne veggies all day without fatigue. The edge holds very well and despite what Chroma recommends, I use a VERY FINE DIAMOND STEEL and leather strop (once every other week) to keep the knife razor sharp. The sous chef commonly uses my knife in place of his shuns because of the quality and uniqueness of the type 301. The only gripe is that the knife is not NSF certified (although it is very easy to keep clean) but for the home cook it is a non-issue.

3Rusts EasilyOct 17, 2011
By Briana
I agree with the other reviews, it handles great and is very comfortable to hold. It's got a great 'feel' and weight to it. I bought this knife from Amazon in December 2009. The only problem is that is rusts very easily even after the first few uses. I've tried to be very careful wiping it dry after washing. Product description also states that you need a special type 301 whetstone to sharpen this knife.
