This is a great product and it will work on synthetic corks. What really impressed me about this product is when my mother bought a bottle of champagne that had a real cork, which seemed odd, and the cork had expanded and was stuck quite tightly in the bottle. Even though it took some real effort, the cork came out and the corkscrew didn't break! This Wine Opener is definitely worth the money.
