Great Double BoilerMar 16, 2010
By Kevin

After using double boilers for years to make steel cut oatmeal, I cannot count how many times it has boiled dry. It is also difficult to clean as most standard double boilers have a groove on the lower pan. This one piece solves all the problems.
1) As the water level lowers it gives of steam that activates a whistle
2) Uses much less water than a conventional double boiler.
3) Real easy to clean.
No complaints what so ever, met and exceeded all my expectations.
The only way to improve it is to supply a lid, it does not come with one.

Good idea, but doesn't deliverNov 04, 2008

I bought this for far cheaper than it's offered here, and I don't think it was worth the money. It's an innovative idea for a double boiler, but the craftsmanship is fairly shoddy - after a few uses it sprung a leak in the handle and was therefore useless (especially on an electric range).
Better off buying a traditional double boiler, or getting some silicone...

I Love my Bonjour "All in One" Double BoilerJul 29, 2009
By Eileen Westgate I notice this item got 2 very poor reviews. I also bought mine marked down. However, I think it is well worth the money. Especially for melting chocolate which is so unforgiving. I never worry about scorching and breaking because of steam. As for how it holds up. I am extremely careful with all my cooking equipment. Mine is still in perfect condition.

not well madeMay 15, 2008

My double boiler fell less than 4" onto my kitchen floor and the handle broke off. I had never used it. That's $50 down the drain.

Water in my chocolateFeb 06, 2010
By EEB I thought this double boiler would be absolutely perfect. However, it has one major flaw. Every time you try to pour stuff out of it, it dumps the water out of the steam vent into your food. I've tried putting a washcloth over it, but then I just burn my hand.
