Good set - although for a larger familyJan 30, 2010
By C. Reynolds We purchased these Anolon Advanced Bronze with our UAirlines miles. This is a heavy-duty set of cookware, but absolutely BEAUTIFUL on the stove. If you have a smaller family (4 people or less), you may do better purchasing the individual pieces on sale. The 8 Quart stockpot is HUGE. We have an older stove/microwave combination and it was too tall to put on the back burners (they have a 4.5 qt stockpot which we ended up purchasing). We also ordered the 1 and 3 qt saucepans as the 10 piece set has the larger 1 1/2 quart and 3 quart saucepans. After using the 1 1/2 and 3 qt we realized that the smaller sizes would better fit our needs. BUT, our two boys are under 10, and so our needs will probably be changing as they get older :)
I was a little worried about not being able to put them in the dishwasher, but they clean so easily, that I don't mind washing them by hand - takes just a minute. We debated whether to purchase these or the Anolon Chef-Clad (stainless), but I am not a gourmet cook and am used to using nonstick cookware. In retrospect, I am glad that we got these, as I don't think-when the cookware gets older-that any imperfections will show as much as on stainless.
In all, this is an awesome set - but make sure you get them on sale - even the manufacturer runs them on sale on their website :)

I love this cookware - solid, heavy and non-stickOct 21, 2010

When I received this set of cookware, the first thing I noticed was how heavy it is. I normally cook with either cast iron or stainless steel so I was expecting something with the word "aluminum" in it to be light. It's not. It is not as heavy as the cast iron but it definitely has some weight to it. The handles have a nice grip and you aren't going to slip when moving a pan from the stove to a trivet and you don't have to worry about burning yourself when lifting the stock pot because the handles on the side are large enough to keep fingers away from the hot pot.
The lids are glass and you can see what is going on while you cook. They fit nicely on the pots. The handle on the lids, is coated so you can get a good grip on the lid while lifting it and are tall enough from the pan that when you do hold lift the lid, you aren't going to accidentally brush fingers on the hot surface.
The non-stick coating is nice. I normally do not use any products with a non-stick coating because of the potential for toxic fumes. I own parrots and there are reports that certain non-stick surfaces can produce fumes that are toxic to birds. This cookware came with a warning that overheating or damaging the non-stick surface can produce fumes harmful to pets including birds. I appreciate the added warning and recommend following the care instructions including hand washing the pans instead of putting them in the dishwasher.
Sizes: You get three pots - small, medium and a large stock pot which is just right for making soups. The small is a little big for just two people but find all three handy for the day to day cooking in my home. You also get a small skillet (perfect for cooking eggs) and a larger skillet. Finally, you get a hybrid they called a saute pan. It is the size of a skillet but the sides are straight up and down and it is deep. Awesome for "one pot" meals - we make a skillet lasagna. This pan is used the most and rarely makes it back to the cupboard.
Finally these pans are pretty. If you like to have your pans on display, these would look beautiful hanging from a pan wrack above your stove.

I AM IN LOVEFeb 28, 2010

Never....never, have I owned such a wonderful set of cookware. The Anolon Advanced Bronze is everything it claims and more. That it is stunning in my new kitchen is a bonus! I found my set and some of the extra peices like the 4qt and 1qt sauce pan in a major sale. I cannot recall in recent history being so pleased with parting with the money it took to make a major purchase! I found several other little treasures on the Anolon website! I cook well and often, if you love to cook for your family or to just entertain friends from time to time, I highly recommend this product. The experience for true cooks is amazing!!! Thanks Anolon Advanced...

An excellent cookware set with quality styling & functionalityDec 10, 2010
By Jared Castle The Anolon Advanced Bronze 10-Piece Cookware Set is an exciting step up from a beginner's cookware set. Anolon delivers solid functionality and gorgeous styling.
My wife listed the five things she likes best about this cookware set:
* Non-stick coating is very good; eggs slide easily onto a plate; * Very durable; * Heats evenly; * Handles don't get hot; and * Oven safe to 400 degrees is a huge PLUS!
She likes the 3-quart covered sauté pan best and uses it for Japanese cooking, such as Tonkatsu (deep-fried breaded pork cutlet) or Nizakana (white fish poached in mirin, sake and soy sauce). The 10-piece set also includes a 1-1/2-quart covered saucepan, an 8-quart covered stockpot, 8-inch and 10-inch skillets and a 3-quart covered saucepan.
I recently reviewed and gave a five-star rating for the Pyrex 10 Piece Cookware Set, which retails for less than half of the Anolon Advanced Bronze 10-Piece Cookware Set. I am giving a five-star rating for the Anolon set, too. How? Well, these are two different sets. The Pyrex set is suitable for beginning cooks and provides some unique features, such as interior marks for quick measuring. In my review, I stated that the Pyrex set is "an impressive value that best suits a young person or couple moving into their first apartment or house."
Anolon touts its restaurant-quality Dupont Autograph 2 nonstick coating and heavy-gauge, hard-anodized aluminum for superior performance. These are not idle claims. Anolon easily passed our cheese omelet test.
In summary, if you are ready to step up from a beginner's cookware set, the Anolon Advanced Bronze 10-Piece Cookware Set is an excellent value with quality styling and functionality. There are many great features (we almost forgot to mention the heat-free grips and break-resistant glass lids).
Rating: Five stars.

Beautiful and functionalSep 23, 2010

First, let me say, that as cookware goes, this set is very attractive. But handsome is as handsome does, and when it comes to cookware, it doesn't matter to me how it looks, as long as it performs. And this is a great set of cookware! I've had a copper bottomed set for about 8 years that I've really been very happy with, but I think I'll end up being even happier with this Anolon set.
It is heavy - but that's a good thing. I like the substantial feel of them but I also find that a heavy pan heats more evenly and therefore cooks better than its lightweight counterpart. As far as not being able to put them in the dishwasher, I've always washed my pans by hand so for me that was neither surprising nor a factor in the decision to get the pans. I'm actually happy to hand wash as I would worry that the dishwasher would be hard on the exposed surfaces.
The size of this set suits me great. With a family of four, two of whom are teens, I like to prepare big meals and then have leftovers for reheating when those teens need a snack later. There is no problem with doing just that with this set - it easily handles my family's needs.
I recommend this set, and am actually thinking about purchasing it as a wedding gift for a friend.
