5GREAT VALUEMar 24, 2007
By N. Matthews "Bargain Shopper"
I was so pleased to find this item. Comparable items from the private "Pampered Chef" Executive line are twice as expensive. It turns out that the Anolon Advanced appears to be an exact match to their pieces. The quality far exceeds the typical Wal-Mart, Target, Penney's offerings. The thickness of the anondized construction as well as the fabulous "Dupont Autograph 2" coating makes these pieces perfect for family life. Having that coating on the outside really insures the beauty of the pieces is maintained over time. The Hard anondized construction is great but if you had anything spatter on it (like olive oil), you would always see that after it was washed and dried. With Anonlon Advanced - you get the best of both worlds! The skillet it super huge - so no worries about capicity.

5top of the line piece of cookware!!!Dec 23, 2006
By Culinary in Chicago
This piece is huge!! I can do so many different things in this pan. I love the tough non stick inside and out!! Clean up is incredible. And it goes in the oven up to 400 degrees. I did a huge fritata over the weekend for the family, we covered it in cheese and put it in the oven. It slid out of the pan onto my serving platter, cooked evenly thru out no burning on the bottom (have you ever seen that when you start something on top of the stove) wow!!! I can not say enough about this piece, it was a great choice for us!!

4ExcellentNov 19, 2005

I actually bought this for my mother for Christmas, but found myself in the need of a larger skillet or food would have spilled all over. So now I have to get her another one. This thing is huge! I don't know why I ever used smaller pans in the past. Great price as well. It heats up super fast, and very even. I haven't used it much, so I only gave it 4 stars, probably deserves 5!

Take care not to burn the pan as it is not recommended for greater than med-high heat. I used mine on high to stirfry and the nonstick coating changed color slightly. Nonstick coating is durable and works well, but not perfect. Also, be careful not to burn yourself on the metal portion of the handles on either side of the silicone.

1WAY too small for a 14 inch skillet!!!Sep 21, 2007
By P. Breakfield IV "Tom Steele"
UPDATE: 3/2009 - I have had this pan for about a year and a half and it is going bad. The non-stick coating is no longer working well and I am going to have to order a new pan. The non-stick coating on this pan was always a good deal "rougher" feeling than the Revere-ware pan I purchased at the same time - and now it is starting to let food stick. That's why I am on Amazon today, ordering a new (NOT Anolon) pan...

Wow, I more or less just wasted my $43 on this skillet. I'd return it, but it will do as a 12 inch skillet for me. But I am very disappointed.

I had a T-Fal skillet that measured about 11 inches at the base, with a gradual slope up the sides that would allow me to pile a fairly good amount of fish, or pork chops in the pan quite easily. I have no idea where it came from, I may have gotten it by default when I got married. It has served me well over the years.

But it has some scratches and the non-stick coating is getting rough (still doesn't stick, looks like it is slightly bubbling.) I read that this means it is time for a new pan.

So I came here looking for a slightly bigger pan to replace it, as I always seem to have one filet or chop that won't quite fit or I have to cram the food in tightly.

So I settled on the Anolon 14 inch skillet that I am reviewing here. I also ordered a Revere Convenience 12-Inch Skillet thinking it could replace my smaller 10 inch pan that was also showing some scratches.

I received the Anolon 14 inch skillet and hauled out my tape measure and it has roughly a 10 1/2 inch base. The same as the cheaper, and smaller sized Rever Convenience 12-Inch Skillet. The top is 14 inches in diameter, but the base is the same as my 12 inch skillet.

How is that helpful? This is just a more expensive, takes up more space on the stovetop skillet with the same cooking surface area of my 12 inch Revere skillet!

I am not happy at all with this. The sides are very gradually sloped, so I can see that this might be useful if you are using it as a WOK or for vegetables, but for meats that you want solidly on the cooking surface, this is just a bulky, space stealing pan.

You're better off with something else.
