5Very PleasedSep 12, 2007
By Hil
I have had this set now for 2 years. I cook with them every day and there are virtually no scratches. I have a gas stove and they cook evenly and are very durable. I love the size of these pans. They are a bit heavy but I work around that. I have only used plastic or wooden utensils and I do wash them by hand. They are very easy clean up, if you wash right after use it makes it that much easier but if you don't wash right after use, a little hot water and some soap will clean them right out.

I was very iffy and did a lot of research before I spent this kind of money on a set of pots and pans. I wanted to be sure I would get a set that lasted. I have to say that after 2 years they are still like new. I love to cook in them each time it's like having a new set everyday. I hardly use any oil just a little bit of spray and we are ready to go. I have a family of 5 and do a lot of cooking and not having to worry about things sticking or burning is a huge deal. I am always trying to cook and do other things at the same time and I can't stand over the stove.

I strongly suggest this set. I can't say enough about it. 2 years with no scratches, amazing....

2Disappointed in Anolon Customer ServiceJan 16, 2011
By Brigette
I did a lot of research before purchasing this cookware set from Amazon. Once I unpacked the set after receiving it in the mail, I noticed the 8 qt. stockpot had an unusual powdery coating inside it. I washed the stockpot according to directions, and I discovered that the Teflon coating was worn along part of the bottom of the stockpot. I decided to call the Anolon company directly because Amazon was currently out of the 8 qt. stockpot. The company acknowledged the stockpot was defective; however, they would not replace it. They told me I had to go through Amazon since they were whom I had purchased the set from (so much for their warranty). In addition, I learned that the limited warranty is VERY limited. If anything goes wrong with a pot or lid, you must send it to California at your expense and replacement is at their discretion (quite a long list of restrictions). I would like to add that this cookware set cannot be used past medium heat and the lids do not have holes to vent steam (warning in directions about a vacuum seal being created).

4Best price from AMAZONFeb 06, 2007

BEAUTIFUL set!! I can't believe I researched pots and pans but I did and learned many things. For these particular pans, reviewers brought up some good points:

For the Teflon debate about cancer causing coating -- these are hard anodized aluminum, as mentioned. The Anolon.com website has an "Earth Friendly" icon that states they use no harmful materials. I will be washing mine by hand, to reduce wear and tear.

For durability -- they offer a Lifetime Warranty.

For Amazon's part -- in my experience with them, shipping is always a breeze. Items typically arrive earlier than promised. The manufacturer packed the pots and pans, so it arrived in its original box, inside an Amazon.com box, with a little extra packing for travel. The glass lids were packed well, so nothing was broken.

I bought these from Amazon.com because:

First -- I want to start cooking more regularly and needed a GOOD set for everyday cooking, that will last for years. A good place to look for the non-experienced cook was on Macys.com, where they gave a comparison of the different brands they offered. It helped in deciding what type of coating (if any) would work best for me.

Second -- The price and ease of purchase. Original price for this set was $425.00. Sales price when I went to Macy's was $299.95. On Amazon (a couple of weeks ago) was $199.95, so already far better than Macy's. Amazon also had the 8 piece set for the same price, which made the 10 piece set an even bigger deal. Free shipping AND a coupon for more money off. The grand total from Amazon was $174.95!! For a $425.00 set, that is not bad at all!!

I look forward to using these and by all accounts, expect them to hold up to their claims of durability. The fact that they are oven safe, gives me confidence in those claims. I rate this set 4 stars for overall appearance, weight, and anticipation of good cooking and easy clean up. If not, I promise this review will be amended.

My advice -- wait for a holiday sale, when you can get the best price. The price on this set has already gone up. Hope this helps!

5Heavy with no noticeable wear after a year...Jan 22, 2007
By Breena Stanton "A Want-to-Be Domestic"
I am in love with this cookware line. The weight is great (that is, very heavy), I've never experienced any "hot-spotting" or other troubles with the cookware itself (and that's even at my new apartment, where the stove is simply awful). Food began turning out better after I purchased these, and I will probably purchase no other brand in the future. I have had the lids fall from my lid rack that is mounted on my wall a distance of 3-4 feet and none have broken, so fear not if glass lids make you nervous- these are well built. My only advice is to hand wash- it will keep the rubber grips from warping and the set looking new for years to come.

2These Pans Don't LastMay 24, 2011
By J. White
I've had this set of cookware for just a few years now. I was pretty happy with them when I first got them. Now, however, I'm in the process of throwing them ALL away and replacing them with Stainless and Cast Iron cookware. It is completely pointless to buy a cookware set of non-stick. They don't last more than a few years. All the nonstick has worn away, and the coating is coming off and getting into the food we cook. The once non-stick 8" and 10" skillets are the worst. After putting a few TABLESPOONS of butter on these skillets to cook my eggs this morning, the eggs still stuck like crazy to the pans. So, like I said, don't buy a whole set of nonstick cookware. You'll end up buying a whole new set every few years for the rest of your life. Waste of money. Buy a set of stainless and cast iron cookware. I'd recommend All-Clad Stainless and Lodge Logic cast iron. All-Clad is more expensive than Anolon, but it's cheaper in the long run because it will last FOREVER. Same with the Lodge Logic cast iron, it lasts forever, not just a few years. Anolon is lifetime LIMITED warranty. No matter what nonstick cookware you get, the nonstick eventually always wears away, and you're left with a very sticky mess. My suggestion... buy one cheap $20 nonstick skillet that you can replace every few years, not a whole cookware set. You don't need a nonstick saucepan or saute pan or stockpot. Get stainless. I gave these pans 2 stars, only because I was happy with these pans the first year. If I would rate these pans based on how they work now, I would give them 1 or 0 stars.
